Clarity of water in reef tank

Hi fellow reefers,

can anyone share your experience and knowledge on this,

I have seen some reef tanks with terrifc clarity of water but some were just "average".

is the clarity results from the equipment or additives ?

If so, what are they and how they affect the clarity?

i would say active carbon does help.

besides carbon, the use of an ozoniser does help greatly.

Ozonizer usually connected to the air-intake of skimmer, and AC to remove excess ozone, and other impurities in the water.

For purfication of tap h2o, You need RO/DI.

Nothing to do with the clarity in the aquarium h2o.

do check if the acrylic can withstand the O3... one thing for sure, the o-rings would need to be replaced on a regular basis.. O-rings are cheap.. but if the O3 is gonna make ur skimmer brittle.. not advisable to do that then.

again, it is an issue of Penny wise, pound foolish... u pay peanuts, u get monkeys..

those established brands should do just fine... and these stuff might not be cheap.
