Sea Cucumber

My sea cucumber has been very busy massing my sand bed surface recently.

Wonder can I put it in my sump area where there is no sand and light.

What is the main diet? Algae or dirt.

Putting a sea cucumber into a sandless place is like throwing a human into a desert...it'll starve to death soon

The cucumber feeds on the bacteria and detritus in yr sand, and since it is a highly inefficient form of feeding(how much food can u get from small grains of sand?), it tends to sift through our sandbeds non stop to get the nutrition it needs

If u really find it irritating, then u should donate the cucumber to someone who needs it, or alternatively, if yr sump has a large surface area and no dangerous powerheads (some cukes climb...), u could dump sand into it and let it move over after the sandbed has been established...

My sump is quite empty now after removing all the bioballs, with just 1 compartment with bioRings, and another compartment with all the necesary pumps.

Thinking of putting LR in my sump main area for filtration. So underneath still some still empty area where I usually see dirt, shit, brown color stuff all there..

Will it have more food it I put the sea cucumber there, must i put sand?

do black cukes aka dung crash tanks when they die by releasing obscene amounts of ammonia/toxins?

If i am not wrong, if it get stuck in the or crush by pump or power head, it should release poison

Don't underestimate how fast bacteria grows.

They have been here since the start of creation and will probably be the last creatures standing come a nuclear holocaust and the end of the world!

The black sea cuke is much less toxic than the other kinds of sea cukes (we eat it in our chinese soup or vegetable dishes at wedding dinners!).

The black donkey dung cukes are also proven sand sifters... not 'useless' filter feeders.
