Morgan
No problem to maintain at this level if you don't intend to keep invert.
terryansimon
so Morgan am I right to assume that salinity level of 1.014 is perfectly fine for fish only?
Achilles Tang
At this level of hyposalinity, your parasites will not be able to survive for long... good for FO tanks, but no inverts will be able to live for long too...
jason
so what is the recommended or ideal salinity for reef tank.

SRC Member alanseah Posted November 10, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted November 10, 2003 Check carefully if that is the white spot. Best is catch your fish and then put them in plain for 1 min be4 putting them back. Fish can survive in such low salinity provided you slowly reduce it a week to reduce to 1.014. For fish only tank your salinity be in 1.022 to 1.024 will do. If you got coral then best to be in 1.024 to 1.026 I keep my tank in 1.
