Hi

THe water that's in the skimmer cup. Is it Salt water or is it freshwater with the "organics" stuffs.

COz i dunoe what to top the water up with. Salt water or DI water!

it should be salt water with all the muck. Some of the reefers got kopi-thick stuff while some gets Chinese tea so the liquid or foam should have salt content in them. That's why after a while we need to measure our S.g. of the water and do regular top up and and do a 10% water change to maintain s.g.

actually you need to top up a little of both. if you wet skim, you will lose some saltwater, and this needs to be topped up. but you also need to top up fresh water due to normal evaporation from the tank.
