How to get rid of hairy green algae in my tank?

Hi guys

Just started my 2nd tank (2 feet) ..... I know..I had nuttin better to do....

Noticed a lot of hairy green algae growing on my tank walls and floor...

anyone has any idea how to get rid of them beside scrubbing? Coz they come back just 2 days i finished scrubbing

Get algae eater like sailfin benny, bicolor benny, hermit crab, snail, etc.

ive tried and successfully combat hairalgae with long spined urchin & torchus snails

Reduce lighting period

It could also be water quality...maybe you wanna check the Nitrate and Phospate.

phosphate and nitrate always tend to be high during cycling period.Light being the catalyst for the algae to grow,so reduce the lighting period and it should help tremendously.Are you skimming now btw?

what i did was reduce feeding, run rowaphos and get some snails..
