TONGA ROCKS !! for your SH tank !  :eyebrow:

Chose 4 pieces of CURED Tonga branches from CF... they are surprisingly porous/light actually... only 5.6kg :shock:

No smell at all :heh: And its porosity means more water volume left in my tank... after dumping in all the rocks... I only removed 2 litres of tank water :eyebrow:

The rockspace looks good to me :)

I dislike having tanks that are "bended" from one piece of acrylic/glass as the "90 degree angle" joints will create distortion <_<

Here's a way to tell how effective is the hood cooling fan... the outlet temperature is a shocking 40ºC :o:o:o Must make sure to regularly check the fan... if not the E ballasts will surely "melt" inside ;)

Connected the chiller :D After some serious struggling... manage to cramp in an Aquabee 2000 pump to feed the Mini Arctica 1/15 hp chiller :)

This Aquabee 2000 is my favourite pump actually... very versatile with a minimal 18W power consumption :)

The Mini Arctica is working like a charm actually... despite previous concerns... it is a great little toy :D

Manage to brought down my temperature 4ºC (31ºC to 27ºC) within 2 hours... will check my Aquatronica tomorrow for more readings... the highest temperature setting for this Mini Arctica is 27ºC (kick-in at 28ºC) :)

The back of the chiller is quite hot also... better not hide it inside the cabinet :erm:

In order to judge the chillers efficiency... we should also look at environment temperature (26ºC day time) and the amount of heat generated by the equipments within the system (usually gauge by power consumption)

1) 2 x Return Pumps – 9W x 2 = 18W

2) Skimmer Pump (Hydor) – 28W

3) Chiller Feed Pump (Aquabee 2000) – 18W

4) Wavemaker (Koralia 1) – 4.5W

Total = 68.5W

I've taken out the lighting because I believe the cooling fan is able to off-set the heat generated almost entirely (as tested).
