MH 150W

Saw a light shop selling 150W MH at $180 (approx) currently no stock, my tank is 2.5ft and if i get the 150W MH with one fan blowing is it enough. Anybody having the same fixture as mention. Don't recommend chiller (no budget for that). Thanks.

i have a 2ft deep tank 2 x 150w mh... no cooling fans, no chiller but still maintain 28deg... btw, i my lights are on at night when my aircon is on and i am around to enjoy the view....

You intend to use the fan to blow at the Mh or the tank... Because some people have built in fan in their MH setup... You can see Calciumreef Fixture.

$180 sounds cheap....but check the bulb. see if it is compatible for marine use......

hey reefer guy, what happens if you off the aircon , will you have the suana effect. Don't advice me to place the tank beside an open fridge

As for the MH pricing, the bulb is for marine ...10k. They know what they are selling..anyway the stock will be in two weeks later.

not at all... actually i isolated the ballasts/gear box and mounted it out of my house... its the ballast that really produces excess heat although the bulb warms up as well... sometimes i reach home late at night and the water temperature reaches 29deg at the most without aircon as far as i have observed... my mh switches on as well in the morning, from 7am til 10am and by that time i am off to work so it is left without any aircon to cool down the temperature....
