Bought T5 FL

Just bought a 3ft FL T5 actinic $30 with build in Ballast, made from China (new product). Got a e shock when i placed it on the tank. Now i throw it inside

dun waste it, you can place at my tank, rather than at your store...

That 3ft thing should be 21W, using electronic IC ballast. Can light up the 39W ATI tube, but just not as bright as the ATI suppose to be.

Actually i got shock a few times just to confirm, shorted some of my brain cell and i run out of the house to buy a $1 test -pen instead of using my finger to test. Yap, it's a 21W T5 , by the way, can produced 39W with rating of 21W meh! confused!

anyway be careful wif any appliance wif only 2wires .. if not done properly it will definately shock U

i would recommend u to DIY it into 39W ballast which can support a HO T5 tube.... then when u DIY, use a three pin plug ( stg like those for PC ) instead of the normal 2, where the earth end is screwed to the metallic ballast

Try to find a place to put a wire in and earth it!The last time i visited coralreef i had a nasty shock when i touched his MH casing!
