hi, starting a reef aquarium. any1 knows how much those arcadia metal halide cost? they are so sleek, handsome and cool. very x rite.

The Arcadia MH units are very nice but some units in UK are having heat problems due to their protective mechanism that shuts off the lamp when the unit gets too hot and the ambient temperature is 18 C here(ang-mohs keep their house freezing). Some have bypassed the protection and are working fine.

If you can afford it, Geisemann or AB units are prettier!

if you are not fussy about branding, get those taiwanese MH lights they are at a small fraction comapre to those made by AngMos.

I have been using them for years already.
