Piping in IOS to Sump

Hi Gays or Gals,

I like to take on the adventure to setup the piping in my tank to sump. I would like to know what is the risk of doing so, since I am not expert?

If someone can advise me the following, that will be great

1. What type of Sealant I should use?

2. Do I need to put Sealant on both end of the tightener (btw the bottom glass)?

3. from Q2, if I put Sealant on the outside of the tank only, will the possibility of leak be greater? (reason the IOS is quite deep and my hand can't reach to the bottom)

This is my first time doing this, really quite worry that leakage will happen. If you are willing to give a expert hand, please let me know.
