SRC Member sadist Posted June 14, 2007 SRC Member Share Posted June 14, 2007 Hi fellow reefers, just just completed cycling my tank, thinking of adding some fishes but had no specific preference yet. Would like you guys to offer some ideas. As my tank is only about 2ft cube, and i really enjoy seeing fishes swimming around carefreely, hope that you guys could drop me afew suggestions based on the above pointers. Thank you all in advance

SRC Member sadist Posted June 15, 2007 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 15, 2007 Green Blue Chromis eh? Seriously speaking, these fishes never caught my eye before. Seem just plain and no distinct characteristic. Guess my taste in fishes is only skin deep.

SRC Member sadist Posted June 16, 2007 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 16, 2007 i see, so should the Chromis be introduced into my tank first, or i should let other fishes which more shy first?
SRC Member angelfishlover Posted June 22, 2007 SRC Member Share Posted June 22, 2007 Chromis you can introduce them first.I was also satrting on my first marine tank.Thinking gettin 4-6 blue green chromis cause they are the most hardy fish.BTW they also used for cycling a tank. SRC Member sadist Posted June 22, 2007 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 22, 2007 thanks. Saw some pretty nice medium size Chromis at ML today. Maybe you wanna try them. But i think you should not let them into your tank for cycling purposes

SRC Member sadist Posted June 25, 2007 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 25, 2007 besides the Chromis for their activities in the tank, how about the other options of Anthias? i know in terms of feeding, it might be a challenge, but given the beauty of those fishes, arent they worth the effort? Or is there too much of an effort compare to Chromis?
SRC Member big_ben102000 Posted June 25, 2007 SRC Member Share Posted June 25, 2007 haha anthias in my opinion is the hardest to keep... have tried some of those harder ones ... no success
SRC Member chaniz Posted June 25, 2007 SRC Member Share Posted June 25, 2007 you can try bartletts anthias or tricolor anthias... so far this two anthias are hardy and easy to keep too. of cos when you buy you need to get at least 3 or more. hope tis helps.
