$20!!!!!!!!!!

shit the prices have really risen.

i got mine for $5 at ML,

another $4 at the old r#b)rn

$20 might as well get the rare black strain,

i saw some at LCK last week,

small one, big one all same price.

mine opens when it senses food,

place it in a place where there is high current flow.

owder Blue,Nov 7 2003, 09:53 AM] Yap - T** is the place.  I got mine from there 2.

I will definitely go to them for sun corals...They have the nicest specimens around so far...and sometimes they bring in beautifully coloured mushrooms...

Btw...i dun earn commission from them...if only they...I wish...:P

Like what others have mentioned, suncoral dun need light. But i don't think that means they die die have to be in a dark spot.

Mine is also directly exposed to my T5.

They will bloom when food is around.

But the bloom will last longer if the currentl flow is good.

Above are all juz IME :P

Hi Holyspirit,

Juz to share with you that suncoral needs direct feeding to every individual polyps for them to thrive.

So they will take up quite a bit of your time.

But its very rewarding when you see them bloom :P

And if you are too engrossed with the feeding, your bioload will increase.

Above are some factors for you to consider.

My 2 cents

I like a specimen too. But the ones I have seen locally so far are mostly dying.

When I was at Hong Kong last month, I say sun coral the size of footballs and all opening up... So tempted to get them.

Mine was closed was about 2 months after i bought it, too lazy to target feed :P

Nowadays i feed it about 3 times a week with mysis shrimp, now it blooms everynight almost about the same time that i normally feed them...wierd huh? They seemed to be anticipating food <_<

Like Ong had mentioned..they don't need light, since they are not photosynthetic and are normally found on overhangs of caves, but lights will not harm them. Mine are under T5's direct, and they still bloom everynight. The Black Suns also bloom under lights, but i notice that they bloom most when the lights just go off.

My photoperiod is from 1430 to 2330...normally my suns starts opening at around 2000hrs...all the way until about 5 to 6am. :)
