Hoompah
Got to know this forum from Qian Hu Road show in Bugis Junction last weekend. Cool stuff. Wanted to seek advice that I re-introduced live stock sometime last month after stopping it for a while in late last year. But to avail that none of any species survived. Worst that now my tank is empty (only 1 fire shrimp, 2 skunk shrimp and a cone-shape snail- Don't know that name, suppose to eat algea) I could see literally tiny white spots (slightly elongated shape) moving around. Are those white spots? It's it because now that they do not have a fish as host, therefore they swimming around freely? If I introduced any fish, who they 'attack' them by clinging on to the fish. I'm really disaapointed that I could have any livestock now. Kinda losing confidence of the whole thing. But I love this hobby and was determine to start this up. Ideally, I would love to have Clowns, flame angle and tangs only. That will be my dream comes true! I've even invested on a chiller because I heard that fishes from hawaii need the water to be colder. As I maintain the water at around 27-28 degrees. Can I start to buy some more fish. Do I have to change the water. What can I do to start this thing up again. (Bearing in mind that my tank had been running in mid of 2003...) Thanks to all! SRC Member Underwater Posted June 12, 2007 SRC Member Share Posted June 12, 2007 Sounds like copepods to me since they are no fish to eat them. They are not pest, and are beneficial to your tank, esp as food some species of fishes.
uws
Could be copepods... I also saw some white little things moving in my SKIMZ FR. As for chiller, I am told that if u are going to keep corals (LPS, SPS), its best to have chiller but not a must for fishes. Got Purple and Yellow tangs in my tank and I dont hv a chiller.
