which is maroon clown?

i was given the maroon clown on the left.

went to lfs and bought the one on the right. was told its maroon clown. went home trying to pair them but their colour looks very different.

suspecting the new clown is those orange clown.

anyone can help me id?

both are maroon clowns...jus that they hav different patterns on their body....and the colour difference only.. ;)

Maroon clowns are also known as Spine Cheek clowns. U can see juz under the gills on both side there'll be a small spine, that's why the common name too.

For pairing of clowns, it's advisable to pair one smaller in size while the other is bigger. It reduces the chance of them fighting.

Both are maroon I wonder if they are coloured differently becos of the gender???

Tank parameters:

Temperature maintained at 25.3'C to 24.7'C

No3: 10ppm(b4 the use of the deltec skimmer)

No3: 5ppm (after use of the skimmer)

Others? too lazy to measure...LOL

They are both marron clown, as sometimes if you buy the common clown, their colours can be different shades of orange. I feel that if you let them stablise as while and with the lights switch on, their colours will sort of blend and the lighter one will turn darker while the darker will turn lighter. This is just my 2-cents worth.

Very nice maroons, btw. I only love them in their super red stages. Do be patient in introducing them together. They are known to be aggressive fellas.

bought a clown, LFS owner said it was a cocoa clown.. but i confused whether it is a cocoa sic it have maroon's appearance on it.. what u mean by 'juz under the gills on both side there'll be a small spine'?
