Really appreciate your generorsity to share your Aquaz nano... at the moment I still have a tiny bottle of stock left from the last purchase, though expire on the date, still able to serve the purpose. I am looking out for replacement when this bottle runs out. Anyone knows why they stop that product? I find that is a good product for plankton dosing for those who do not want the trouble of culturing themselves....

Well, the tiny bits consist of spray dried phytoplankton, dried zooplankton, henry's food formula mesh bits..... making the water coluration a little cloudy..... :paiseh: I suspect clams do not like it but the bros here also flood their tank too.... so wondering do they have the same observation and is it harmful to the clams in long term especially this cloudy effects happen once or twice daily.....

Hi all,

Have anyone ever had shrimps that are about the size of anomone shrimp, living in your clam before? I've just discovered I had one living in my squamosa..... :ooh::shock: I'm very sure I saw a shrimp moving inside the squamosa thru' the "clam mouth"....

Come to think about it, that shrimp had molted at least twice inside the clam 'cos I've seen the clam "whoosp" out shrimp shell twice....

Currently, the squamosa looks okay by appearance, its mantle is still extending out... But I observe that it may not be happy in the sense that it has "whoosping" habit that cause its position to move from day to day....

Now, my question is:

1) Is this okay for the clam?

2) If not, how am I going to get the shrimp out of the clam?

Anyone?

:) Greeting :)

Oh... Now there's someone 's clam also got the little shrimp in the clam. I too got this tiny prawn inside my squammy. I have observed it for many months already and there's no sign of stress by the clam. N I suppose tat its ok with the fellow living inside the clam. So no worries. The shrimp might help to tickle or scratch the clammy at times too :P

Juz a little update... Looks like the commensal shrimp inside, do not really harm the squamosa... I have observe new shell forming on all my clams (2 maxima and 1 squamosa) after about 2 month plus in my tank using TM reefpro saltmix for water change. Juz wana make this note 'cos I did not observed that when using coralife....

Oh well, as I mentioned observation. The only thing that I do on regular basis is water change. Corallife salt is known to have good level of KH, Ca and Mg... however, I have used 3 bucket of this salt and never see any growth and recently, I switch to TM reefpro...

It is good to be skeptical... think of how to prove it and shares your thoughts here with us. ;)

As for the commenal shrimp ID, no idea... the body with tiny black dots.... It comes with the squamosa....

Did you measure and see what are the different water parameters in this salt?

Have you got a picture of this cool shrimp?

Well, put it this way, what can we measure? Probably the common ones like the Ca, KH, PH and Mg... So, knowing these will it be enough? So, what's important is the outcome after using it.... at least for me as a user ;)

Probably there is some in the Net.... I did my very best to take but failed... I have to aim at the clam's mouth and also need the shrmp to be near the mouth....

Didnt you try to feed the shrimp and waits for it to come out. Then you can take picture. Or say, "come to mummy" LOL

Well, some salts has more stable Sr. And Ca, Mg and Ph are different in all brands.

Taking those parameters will let you know one step more what you are buying.

that's true.... however, how the livestocks doing in your tank speaks better....

BTW I do not have full range of testkits... only Ca, KH and nitrate.. can't tell much anyway....

Do u think it will work for you? If I put a piece of food near the clam, the flock of greedy fish in my tank will eat it before the trick works....

then you have to teach your flock of fish not to mess around with mummy. LOL

Standby a stick and wallop them, LOL

My perculas are very naughty, always pull the food away from corals even they are too full to eat.
