my mistake. haha. clowns dun need to have anemones, just that anemones would prefer to have clowns to bring them food.

I hope u did not scrub ur Lrs with freshwater? If so, u'll probably need a even longer time for cycling.

Btw, do note that u do not need to use any fish for cycling if u have testkits. Advice to test the NH4, NO2 in the 1st 2 weeks. If possible every 2-3 days. After the 2 week, start testing NO2 and NO3. You'll see a cycling process. The ammonia spike will happen sometime in the 1st week. Followed by NO2 spike and NO3. Once u start measuring zero NO2 for at least 3 days, u can safetly say ur ammonia cycling is over.

As for clownfish, they have a symbiotic relationship with anemone. They seek shelter from predator in the anemone while the anemone benefit from its crumps of food.

reefs.org has a gd table that shows which clown is compatible to which anemone. http://www.reefs.org/library/compatibility.html

Cheers

hey sis, be cool. maybe the way u phrase ur search makes pple thinking u r cruel to use fish to test water.

At first when first saw ur post also tot it's some reckless reefer who's using fish to test water stability. except i never join the flaming :)

All of us are in the learning process together. no hard feelings between good reefers here. just beware of scam reefers roaming in this forum who target specifically new reefers.

Haha bro i always like ur post on someone, btw really thx for ur effort now more and more new reefers (including me) know who to avoid. *cheers for u* :thanks:

Another way to add nutrient for the cycling process is to use market prawn. You can add 1 or 2 piece of prawn meat to simulate the additional nutrient instead of live fishes. You can then remove the meat easily.

haha. just playing a part in contributing to this forum. At least on the other side he's already banned indefinitely there so no worries for the pple there. this side he just continues to have the freedom to roam so need more attention. now and then i just have reefers sms or pm me warning me abt him, so tot i shld bring these msgs to everyone.
