I have a resun CL 650 and runs a 2000litre pump from sump 3 *1.5*1.5 to main tank 3*1.5*1.5.

I estimated that the chiller will kick in about every 1.5 hr for about 50mins. I set the temperature to 27 degree. Is the flow rate ok or too slow?

the flowrate is too fast IMO.....1000lph shld be more den enough... ;)

if this dosent help, ur chiller shld require servicing...

also, ur number of equipments does contribute to the transmission of heat...

If i would to reduce to 1000lph plus head lost from sump to tank.. i may be getting even lesser flow rate to the tank... wouldn't it be less effective? Cos i am not really sure about other reefers' chiller kick in frequency... Just wanted to know if mine is normal..

I'm using a Resun CL650 also with temp set to 27C. My tank is 3'x2'x2' with a 2'x1.5' sump. I'm using an Eheim 1262 to pump from sump thru chiller to main tank. I'm suffering plenty of headloss, I guess my final flowrate is somewhere 2000L/hr or less. My chiller kicks in maybe every 2-3 hrs and runs for 45-60 mins on hot days. On cool days it kicks in maybe every 5-6 hrs and runs for 45 mins.
