MH 150w, how far can it go?

wondering wat kind of lights i should get then sumble on this site which is promoting MH 150w for $125... just wanna know how far a MH can go? corals and anemones suitable? strong enough to promote photosynesis?

150w MH is the minimum for MH and can keep anything far better than FL/PL due to stronger light intensity that enables a deeper 'punch'.

Clams, hard corals eg. LPS, amenomes will do well with 150w. Some SPS and certain clams may require to be placed up higher to keep its colours.

For better growth & colouration of SPS and clams, higher wattage MH is recommended.

Do a search on lighting and you'll find a great deal of info here in SRC.

not very sure about 150W... but from my observation, a single 250W 6500K MH could go much deeper than 6x55W 6500K PL (total 330W!).

It produces more than heat! It could practically boil your tank.Look at spiderone if you don't believe. A pl at most uses 55w while MH bulbs uses at least 150w.you do the maths.
