What is my NO3 value actually?

I see some ppl measure in ppm, how to I get that value?

Get a titration method test kit like Salifert for accuracy. Colour changes are a headache to judge esp. in poor lighting and the state of your eyes!

To me it looks like its somewhere between 25 and 50!

Got salifert test kit for NH4 and NO2.. but didn't get for NH3..

Have been fighting with NO3 for 3 mths already..

Can u imagine, this reading is just after 60% water change..

OVerflow system with dry/wet bioball .. know this is no good.

Was advised to remove all my bioballs and biorings. See if this help.

Hi Spider, how u manage to make ur tetra color chart so clear? If u compare the pic from chris, the color difference for the last 3 zone is not obvious. I'm using tetra for NO3 also and my chart is similar to Chris type.

I used to have high nitrate after cycling too. But manage to get it down to 12.5mg/l since. Was having problem trying to figure out which zone it falls in. Luckly, 12.5mg/l color is quite obviuos to me.

Tetra really sucks.. cannot see much differences from 50mg/l to 100mg/l

Actually, it still serve its purpose since nitrate above 50mg/l is definitely too high liao.

for me as long as there is a testkit that can accurately measure 0, its good, coz i really aim for 0 for everything

Haha.. don't worry.. cause I off my return pump already.. so the water is higher.

When the pump is on, the water is ½ the sump high.
