Dusty tank view

I have rescaped my tank recently but after months the tank is still dusty... I can see particles floating... I am running 2(L)x1(W)x1.5(H) with a cannister filter Eheim 2026 with filter sponge only (+ Prizm Skimmer). but still unable to clear it up...

I was tricked by the packing! one look I saw the brand was SERA... Brought home and found the Quality was different... closer look Brand was "SAGA"

Any Idea about "water polish" device? Trying not to use Chem (crystal clear solution)...

o gosh....after months still water still unclear...then ur whole filter system already fail.

u may wanna change ur filter medium....u got a sand bed ? and is the tank properly circulated ?

with good circulation, filter and sand bed, the dirt should get trapped and clear up with days not months. Very tricky here if u dun wanna use chemicals....but why ?

I read Chem that cluster the dirt together can affect the fishes gills and some even indicate that it will harm invertebrate. Is it true?

I got Coral Chip bed, don't like bare bottom tank... Chips is about 2 - 3mm grain...

cloudy water may attribute to various factor like ionic imbalance and bacteria boom.

to solve ionic imbalance, do a parameter check on Ca, Mg and Alkalinity.

for bacteria boom and ionic imbalance , changry water will be the best option out.

u might wanna include mechanical filtration like ROWAcarbon and Polyfilter to absorb minute particles to polish up your water in your Canister.

haha.. agree with hammy... something wrong with ur filtration...if u afraid that chem will affect ur ls, try clarify by seachem..

Desperate liao, went to shop yesterday and bought Ocean Free Crystal Clear... It got rid of the cloudy look and clear up the water... But the particles are still floating around... Think I need to pack my Sponge tighter.

Looking at my tank... It has got a slight green tint, GREEN Water? I have indirect sunlight reflecting off the floor... Are those particles the float green algae of green water? next up UV light liao!

How long to on UV light (recommended)? I saw a UV light with built-in pump and sponge filter... will likely buy that!
