FuEl
Dunno..never enquired the price of SPS before...I'm just waiting to see if this frag can recover from the abrasions caused by wave action as it was being washed up the shore.. If it does recover in my tank..then I might venture into sps...all depends on this frag.. SRC Member Tanzy Posted November 5, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted November 5, 2003 If the white tips are new growth then it's a Montipora digitata. Quote Warning: Heavy handed moderator in operation. FuEl
If the white tips are new growth then it's a Montipora digitata. The white tips are the skeleton. Think the tissue got rubbed off by attrition as it got washed up the shore. Hope it recovers.. SRC Member pospeh Posted November 8, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted November 8, 2003 It should do well. The green polyps are already extending quite well. Soon it should cover up the dead tips. You have a good find there.
SRC Member ckevin Posted November 8, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted November 8, 2003 Paradise reef has the pink and purple versions of what you have got. It is most probably a digitata. The only way to tell is to break the tip of the coral. If you see a definite ring and a core, it is a porite.
FuEl
OK..will post a pic of it when it fully recovers. Quote Always something more important than fish. http://reefbuilders.com/2012/03/08/sps-pico-reef/
