Hi all, need some help here. I was given a quotation for the following setup. Do you think it is a reasonable setup? How much do you think this setup should be priced?

1. Main Tank (L)43ins x (W)25.75ins x (H)29ins all round 12mm thickness glass. Glass tank construct using Germany silicone sealant. Glass tank comes with overflow compartment (standard in/out hole)

2. ABF System with Full Media - (L)36ins x (W)20ins x (H)20ins with 6mm thickness glass

3. Lightings - 2 Aqualight T5 retrofit, inclusive of tubes and reflectors

4. Skimmer Reef octopus NW-150

5. Wavemaker Seio 820

6. Return Pump Rio 20HF

7. TheBen Timer x2

8. Extension Plug

9. Ventilation Fax x2

10. Pipings

11. Coralife Salt

1. Main Tank (L)43ins x (W)25.75ins x (H)29ins all round 12mm thickness glass. Glass tank construct using Germany silicone sealant. Glass tank comes with overflow compartment (standard in/out hole)

2. ABF System with Full Media - (L)36ins x (W)20ins x (H)20ins with 6mm thickness glass

Tank plus sump probably ard 1.2-1.4K with cabinet included. No need media, cottom wool enough.

3. Lightings - 2 Aqualight T5 retrofit, inclusive of tubes and reflectors

2 retro fit meaning 4 tubes? Probably ard $400 with ATI tubes from DE.

4. Skimmer Reef octopus NW-150 estimate <$300

5. Wavemaker Seio 820 <$80

6. Return Pump Rio 20HF Est $100 (dunno only use ehiem and aquabee) Rio is hot!!

7. TheBen Timer x2 $40

8. Extension Plug $20+

9. Ventilation Fax x2 $40

10. Pipings $50 at most

11. Coralife Salt $60 per bucket with trace element

12. Sand 50Kg $50 (No need if bare bottom)

13. Live Rocks 45Kg (Depends on quality)

14. Corals (Depends on type of coral)

15. Fishes x18 (Depends on fish, if damsels forget it)

16. Set-up inclusive of 2 maintenance services

Based on my estimate without corals, LR and fishes should be ard $2.5K. Problem is no chiller? Fan cannot make it one leh.

Thanks Piero.

Do you mean the 1.2-1.4k includes the main and sump tanks without the cabinet right? Is the 6mm glass sufficient for the sump tank?

Unfortunately, my pre-built cabinet does not have enough space for a chiller so we opted without and was advised that a chiller isn't that necessary if we don't have fancy corals.

What pump and skimmer (around the same price range) would you recommend as better replacements for the Rio and Reef Octopus?

I was quoted 3.1k for this. Think that is reasonable? Another place (at IMM) quoted me 3.3k without skimmer and wavemaker...

you can always find our sponsor for help.. thus the price offered may be better.. reef octo pump is not that hot though.. and u may not wan to use rio as ur return.. as i find that it wont last u that long.. and ur wave make and stuff, u can buy 2nd from the forumn.. as it will save u alot more.. and for the tank u going to have, the seio 820 is not enough.. the flow is too little.
