Internal Filtering Box

Hi all,

I'm planning to Diy my first Internal filtering box for my new 12G nano tank which is currently under cycling state :yeah: .

The IFB will be using combination of black and translucent acrylic sheet of 50mm thickness, weld-on glue and Acrylic bot & nut. All material will be purchase from DAMA with all pre-cut to my requirement.

After several days of researches from the web and LFF/ LFS, I have drawn out 2 IFB that I wanted to be. The 1st picture of the IFB should be working fine, but the 2nd IFB is better and efficient if it’s working as water go thru sponge, mech filter. Skimmer…then return back to the main tank. However, there is a problem on the 2nd IFB lei !

I need to higher and constant the water level at compartment 2 (Red dotted line) in order for Nano 9002 to work properly but from the picture of the IFB , it’s quite impossible to do so.

Now, I head big big liao :( ! Any expert or diy guru here can give me advice?

All inputs are welcome. Be it good or bad.

JM

u will have problem with your 2nd and 5th compartment.

remove the sponge in the 2nd (using sponge might cuz water level in the 1st to be higher) and rethink the water level in your 5th.

what's the return to tank piping for?? (back to 1st compartment)how r u going to regulate the water going back to the display and 1st compartment. u might have issues with that.

do u need the biohome??

wouldn't your rowa/carbon run dry if u have them up so high, they should be submerged completely.

cheers
