My 3x1.5x1.5 Top Filter tank

my tank, setup for around 3 months now. initially was a fresh water tank without sump for aquascaping, but converted to marine tank. decide not to drill but add anotehr tank on top. due to the pressure from top, the downflow was super effective as circulation water movement, the pressure was so much more than the rio pump i use as return til i have to fit a restrictor to prevent sand storm.

a bit messy, but my 4x2.5x2.5 tank will be reaching this week, and i will be doing a massive migration

3x1x0.8 top filter tank

Rio pump to top filter

1xseio 620

1xseio 820

dymax ls 40 skimmer with modded pump

2xMH 150w, 10000k + 20000k

CL650 chiller with Halea pump

1x DIY NO3 Reducer, 1x DIY Calcium Reactor with internal circulation

1x actinic blue, 1x flourescent in main tank 1x florescent in top filter for algae

> 40kg of LR

3xnemo, 1xanemone,1x"dorry" , 1x tang, 1x anthias

most of the coral are LPS, some LPS in testing stage.

the Octo initially have only 1 head, after 1.5 months, now i see there is around 8 small heads growing outt from the side skeleton...hehehe i just found out today when took photo

yup...i am testing out a new metal halide tube which is around 6k. so the tank appear to have different color in two side

it seems to me the LPS grow better with 6k light though but not the SPS

Are those shelves sturdy? Seems like an awful lot of weight for it to be holding up

i have calculated, the top filter + skimmer should be around 50kg. I have the L bracket for 2HP aircond compressor mounting. It should take around 100KG max

anyway, my new tank arriving soon after delay and delay...hehe

the bulb on the right side allows the corals to show more color.

whereas the left side one... seems to make the corals look brownish

yalo tat is what i found out too...but the growth seems a trade-off to the color... probably i will add a third MH with 20K in the middle.

bro as yr new tank is 2.5ft deep, why not go for 250w 14K if u intend to keep some sps

sad yersterday night. I changed a MH tube last friday and went to KL. When i am back on monday, my tank experience slight crash. Hammer and bubble coral was burnt and to dead, leather was slightly burn. The toxic from dead bubble and hammer kill almost all my fish, and injured one of my crocea clam i think....all water parameter was ok...

water change and carbon dos....hope the rest make it....sigh...chain reaction jsut because one MH tube from 6500k to 10000k....
