Shinguuji
as in the above, using seawater=instant cycle? i heard this from somewhere.....u can guess from where, its quite obvious....lol is this true, will using natural seawater speedup or speedup cyling? thanks for advise anyway my small 'crash' i think its not a real crash, just a result of overfeeding, nitrites are back to zero once more... SRC Member Cleartank Posted November 3, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted November 3, 2003 IMHO, i dun think so.... In fact, its the LRs, LS, filter, etc... that are building up with benificial bateria... got nothing to do with the water you use.... so.... Achilles Tang
Not instant. Maybe a slightly faster cycling period given the bacteria count in NSW is much higher compared to sterile saltmix water. That will help kickstart the populating of bacteria on the surfaces of the liverock, sandbed & other types of biological filters. Bacteria can spread very fast anyway... so its really a theory. Bacteria in a bottle may help kickstart the cycle... but Tanzy would disagree and say its a waste of money.
SRC Member metals99 Posted November 3, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted November 3, 2003 i use to use the cycle not bad but now yeah i agree with tanzy waste of money.. prefer to use chemi-pure only as my filter media.. keeps my water condition thumbs up!!
