thinking of trying a sps to see if i can keep or not... saw a few in lfs one is purple looks ok but not all polys are out, another green one looks awesome with all polys out but a few branch is white on the tip is it normal or is it dying?

White tips can also signify growth... but if it looks like skeleton white to you... then it is dying Don't worry too much about polyps extension... they will extend in your tank once they are to settle down... pay more attention to colouration... avoid anything that looks brown to you Purple can be quite hard to handle sometimes... green will have a higher chance of success

What's your NO3 and PO4?

PO4 is 0 NO3 is 0.1 ish the test kit is a bit hard to tell since its almost transparent butnot totally; ; and i have trouble telling the colours since they look so close.....

does it matter if 1 or 2 branch is broken or best to find 1 without 0 dmg?? think i saw a few branch is broken not too sure gottatake a closer look tomorrow or something

10 NO3 is an indication that your tank has not matured (or something is causing the high NO3). As long as PO4 is zero, you can try to introduce a piece or two... but the high nutrient level in your tank may cause its colour to fade or "browning". But again... that's entirely subjective (and depending on luck also).

As far as possible, try to choose specimens without any damage... however if the colour looks fantastic and the price is right... no harm I guess

i think its partly my salt mix i use coralife but when i finish mixing the alt and test it for NO3 its always quite high 10+. my old salt has no such problem but the dealer dont have stock till a month later. using ro/ri water to mix the salt.

anyone having this problem with this brand of salt?

visit the lfs today and bought a nice size blasto positive this time its a blasto good size and healthy open already in my tank.

think i pick a good specimen though it doesnt look as green as i though it did under my MH. accidently broke 1 tip while i secure it hope it will do ok, may the force be with me
