Doubts about anemones

I am thinking of getting an anemone for my tank but I have some doubts I need to clarify:

1) If I put the anemone near to my mushroom coral and leather coral, will it sting them?

2) I know that anemones will move about but isn't it dangerous to put into a tank full of corals?

3) How do I know that the anemone is dying?

4) What type of anemone is recommended for a beginner in keeping anemones?

hmmm u can't put your anemone there, it would move there.. but if it does move to where ur leather or mushroom is, most probably ti would move away... well that's what mine did in the past anyway.. they do sting actually..

it's dangerous in a sense that it would move arnd and topple your corals... other than that, will be the stinging.. not really that nice to have an anemone in a pure reef tank.. looks wierd unless u get a really small one for an even smaller clown..

a dying anemone will have tentacles that are pointing downwards, shrivled up for many days.. or it would just not attach itself... as in rolling all over the place.. when it becomes white, means it's bleached (lack of lights, bad water para)

ermmm i can't ans ur last question.. i don't know much abt anemonies but the common ones u find at LFS sould be fine i guess...

Well I've got 3 anemone in my pure reef tank. No problem with it so far. The thing about anemones are that they will keep moving till they find a suitable location (gd lighting, moderate current flow). Once they found their favourite spot, they will stay put. Anemones naturally attach themselves in caves and strinks into the cave if they feel threatened.

So what i normally do with new anemone is to shaft them into a small cave. Did that for all 3 anemones! 2 stayed there, but one still moving about at the back of the rockwork.

One question though: Do clownfishes actually feed the anemone?

Well...my Tommy pulled an innocent and cute Nemo into the mouth of my rose anemone...and I wasn't in time to save it...sob...sob...

Expensive dinner! Your tommy sure do take care of your anemone with top expensive range food! And your anemone has good taste. Haha.

btw i am thinking of structuring the right side of my tank and put one or two anemones into caves. hope they stay there!!!!

side track a little. will putting and restructuring with a few more LR cause the water chemistry to be imbalanced? or maybe i should add only one rock at a time?

wat is your anemone... Bubble tip and carpet wun move much but magnificent will move a lot like my one move like nobody business...

i havent got an anemone yet. trying to build a structure that will hold the anemones away from my other corals. btw i trying to get bubble tip and a species that has tentacles but not bubble tip.(my fren got)

any ideas on how i can design the structure?

how poisonous is carpet anemone to man? in liveaquaria they said its one of the few that can cause severe reaction in man

sigh...afternoon saw my purple firegoby then now gone...hunted and searched all over the tank also dun have...must be the work of Tommy again...very expensive dinner for Rosie...$10!!!

I only had $2.50 dinner!!!

And to think that they had such a varied palette of food...prawns, cockles, mussels, homecooked meals and even cyclops!!!

carpet sting it still ok to a human .....i have try touching it with my hand the most it will stick to ur hand like super glue .......and not pain one......

but for tube is a bit pain sometime and it also sometime cause stich.....
