Any one tried using fake live rock in main tank?

Hi all, i happed to come across a shop in near my home selling fake live rocks. the rock scape in his display tank look very wonderful!! Anyone here has used it before for rock scape in main tank? and are there any drawbacks with using it, w/o any real live rock?

Im using dead LR's , which is also fake. But once alive.. drawbacks is the colour of it, and your tank may not have the so called good bacteria, but cycling with bacteria do helps .

to me.. i find that dead or alive is ok la.. cause reefers get cured live rocks.. which is those rocks that have no pest in it.. but if u getting those dead live rocks, cycling with bacteria will help.. and soons.. those dead live rocks will become live den..

Hi all. thanks for the replies so far. Apparently those I saw weren't dead rocks. They are man-made, like plastic plants. Can choose rock with different colour algae, purple, pink, etc!1

ic, Its the same , Its called Replica ROcks, They do have custom made too .They are a show piece but its pricy thou

you can get it from GO.. the rocks are about the same price as real one.. juz that they are light.. which will benefits ur tank toos.. by not adding pressure..

yea, replica rock is the right word!! I am more concern about it's impact to livestock, corals etc. If that is perfectly safe, then it's a good consideration, price aside of course!

using replica rocks, u will not get the natural biological filtration which u will get from using LR.

should i then put biohome in the sump to build up the bacteria? Or should i put some live rock in the sump?
