I have a brand new unit of Iwaki MD-70RLT, hand carried back from US about a yr ago. It's a special ordered original 220v version by the US LFS on my behalf. It have since sit in my store room since then. ;)

Would like to sell it off at $550, which is slightly lesser from what I paid for. I was told this pump is sold for almost near to 1k in Singapore .. you have to find out yourself... :D

Crab,

That's why I said I'm selling slightly below my cost. If you include shipping from, its gonna be SGD$160 more. I got it hand-carried back to save the shipping cost.

Crab,

That 'mother' weighs about 6kg, and should hit 7kg easily with packaging.

You should take shipping costs and insurance into consideration, handling charge can be quite pricey as well.

Anyone whose shipped anything in from overseas will tell you that.

I really "shock" at most ppl ability to read info properly even after I post a pic of the spec.... Here in SG, our electricity supply is 50hz and not 60hz, therefore look at wattage specified for 50hz... pengz ...

U need a thicker spec :P

is the speed also the flowrate?

if so then i think EHIEM would be a better choice. also cheaper and less than 100watts! JMO

Actually,

Very few pumps match the power of the Iwakis....

Very few...

Thats why you see many serious SPS reefers using them to run their reefs...

AT, Morgan, Hon and Robe... (all SPS nuts) are running Iwakis.... ;)

So this is most probably "the" pump for those SPS nuts and wannabes...

Coral Clams,

You have to know that there are different grades of pumps out there for different applications.

True Pressure-rated pumps are a lot more expensive and solidly built than the typical aquarium pump made of plastic parts.

The Iwaki pumps are external pumps, air-cooled, made of metal and pressure-rated. Back-pressure won't faze it a bit compared to even the highest capacity aquarium pump in the market. I tried, believe me. These chemical pumps are made for industrial purposes... like in semi-conductor industries. ;)

My beckett skimmer could not function well with the Oceanrunner pump rated for 6500l while my Iwaki MX70 rated for less capacity actually was so powerful that I can T-off both to run my beckett skimmer effciently and provide the returns into my tank.

oh... forgot to mention.. these pumps are also every expensive to run 24 x 7. :(

Iwakis = elite pump. meant for the elite. so yeah. the cost is really justifiable. :P

More so, Iwakis are for hobbyists who have 'DEEP pockets ... the power consumption of these industrial pumps are bound to put a nice spike in your electrical bills.
