Then how to take care of your ammonia and Nitrite???

As part of the biological process, the bacteria will breakdown Ammonia to nitrite then Nitrate. You will need something else like a de-nitrator to remove Nitrate. Fishes and coral cannot tolerate Ammonia too. They are the by-product of their feeds.

i don't believe carbon absorbs ammonia. and if it did, i'd suppose you'd always need to throw out ur carbon and put new one. i've never heard of carbon absorbing nitrites as well.

beneficial thing about bio filtration is that it is 'living' so it will constantly chow up ammonia and nitrites without u having to replace new media.

ammonia and nitrites are poisonous to LS even in small amounts. LS are more tolerant towards nitrates.
