Other than those microbes tat are found in live rocks and live sand, what other sand stirrers do I have to add in the refuge? Heard ppl saying to put sea cucumbers and sand sifting stuff? Is sand dollars a good choice? Will it affect the bacteria or pods living in the sand?

I was thinking most of the stuff is already there with LR and DSB but takes time to show itself. They will multiply when the support for them impoves too. No point in adding too much stuff too soon or it will just crash.

My LF came with small crabs and they have crawled into the DSB stirring things up.

At nite they will come out together with worms etc. You can see their tiny tracks in the mroning.

Damn I love this hobby.

Just a thought.

If you have a large surface area... a Sand Dollar is not a bad choice as they are highly efficient in stirring and cleaning sand bed... some small Hermits can be interesting too... if you want more life inside your refugium... you can also consider a Goby or two  Don't restrict yourself too much... go out and play :yeah:
