Hi all,

I have a silly qns here. pls bear with me. Say I use hose of inner diameter 20mm to connect the pump to the inlet of chiller and use hose of 16mm internal diameter to return to tank. Will there be any side effect on the pump? chiller? advisable to do so?

:thanks::thanks:

Most pumps have bigger intake diameters to allow for blockages not majorly affecting flow and causing cavitation.

Any reducing of pipe/hose diameters is just going to cause more backpressure on the whole pumping system > not so efficient.

The chiller's inlet and outlet should come with a recommended hose/pipe size... suggest you go with that.

that's the confusing part... i am using artica, and it comes with adaptor of 3 different sizes for inlet and outlet: 12mm, 16mm & 20mm (there about, it is in inches and i forgot the exact value).

so technically i could use 12mm, 16mm or 20mm... so can i use 20mm for inlet and 16mm for outlet? keke
