Micro bubbles problem

my sump has 5 baffle plates yet i still have micro bubbles... can it be:

1. ri20 return pump produce the bubbles

2. piping - some where its ###### air in still? (but it should leak water if there are gaps right)

3. skimmer and return pipes too strong? micro bubbles flowing thru the 5 baffles??

i am quite baffled at the moment.

It could be any of the above suggestions... do you wanna consider adding a layer of anti-microbubble black sponge? But that means extra maintenance in the long run

what's the distance between your baffles?

its 1.5 inch...

i just checked... amazingly there are still micro bubbles in the last compartment! this is shocking. 5 baffles cannot handle the bubbles.

i am guessing its my twin input pipes that is causing it as the splash is quite strong due to the high drop and thus alot of bubbles are created.

The black sponges that jervis mentioned works like a miracle..

u can try putting a strip along ya last baffle to trap the micro bubbles.. get those that are more coarse to minimise maintenance in the future..
