i've got a 2ft * 1.5ft * 1.5ft tank which has been running for a good 3 months. currently, i'm housing 1 clarkii clown, 1 purple goby, 1 fire goby, 2 cleaner shrimp, 1 fire shrimp, 2 red linkas, and 1 hermit crab. to add to that, i got some button polyps and 1 branching hammer. just so i know, can i add somemore fish? if i can, how many more would be an advisable number? thanks.

i'd pardon your ignorance, but i'm not ignorant. i know they do. that's why i asked how many more FISH will be acceptable. yep. and from the list of LS, i'm just wondering how big you think my fish can grow to. so yeah.

I read from another thread that as a guideline the fish to tank size ratio is 1 inch to 3 gallons.

I have a 2 ft tank as well but I think I am overstocked. I have 6 fishes that are about 2 inch in size.

how well are they doing??? ;)

right. that's 1 more fish. ok thanks. and i think a more mature tank would benefit lps more than it would fish. correct me if i'm wrong.

the amount of LS you can put in your tank depends on many factors,

not just the number of inhabitants.

different species grow to different sizes...

also different fish have different requirments.

if your tank size and biofiltration can take it,

you can have all the LS you want...

monitor your water parems and you'll get a rough guesstimate

on whether another new addition is a good idea.

just to add...

a good protein skimmer may pre-empt bio-overload, taking out the "bad things" before turning the tank bad killing every tankmate.

i suppose it all depends on the entire tank set up, the kind of lr u use, the pr u use, the dsb u have, the kind of fish you have, etcccccccc... depth of knowledge.
