DUST particles

hey fellow reefers, juz tot of askin if anyone has any excellent way 2 eliminate the damm dust thats continously flowing in my tank??? well i initially suspect it could be attributed 2 my grade 0 sand.... juz a thin layer though i have...well anyone with similar problems n is able 2 solve ??? Well skimmer workin well so im juz curious y is it so its been almost 2-3 weeks n yet 2 serttle down...could it be due 2 my wavemakers??? hope 2 hear any thoughts on this.... Thanks :)

well i doubt so...my wavemakers r already reflecting off the glass 2 curb the flow...well maybe its juz dust particles off the live rocks...still thinkin how 2 solve them..i tried running a pump in main tank...siphoning the water thru cotton pads n leaving the water 2 fall into my sump...goodness tried like for 4 hrs n still the freakin particles r there...although lil clearer...well well...i guess it will juz time hell load of time n patience certainly 2 get em cleared.... :)

sorry to dig up this thread. realise the prob after using all grade 0 sand. set up my tank today and added in the LR to cycle in the muddy water. is there any other way to clear the dust particle or i juz got to clear everything and restart again? thanks

wat type of dust?

particles floating in the water? try running carbon.

Lightings: T5 HO - Hopar 3* 39w + ATI 2* 54w

Skimmer: Skimz Bullet Beckett

Chiller: Resun CL-650 (28 - 29 °C)

Wavemakers: 2* Seio M620 + 1* Hydor K2 (7100 litre / hr)

Fluidized Reactor: Skimz FR (currently empty)

Pumps: 1x Rio 32HF (Skimmer), 1x Rio 20HF (Return & Chiller)

Filtration: more than 80kg LRs, chaeto

Water Circulation: ~ 4000 litre / hr

Future Plans: additional wavemaker, DIY algae scrubber, DIY overflow box
