O3 BAD FOR HEALTH?

I HV 4FTS FOWLR + SUMP FOR ALMOST 1YR.

IM RUNNING NEEDLE WHEEL SKIMMER AND HV 13V UV LIGHT AND RESUN OZONISER. T5 LIGHTS=4TUBES

Q:RECENTLY HEARD FR PPL THAT IF WE BREATH IN TOO MUCH O3 CAN BE DAMAGING FOR HEALTH. CAN ANYONE CONFIRM THIS?

I RUN MY OZONISER WITH AIRLINE + AIR STONE INSIDE SUMP 24/7. DESPITE SUMP INSIDE CABINET I CAN STILL SMELL O3.

Q:IF I FIX OZONISER INSIDE SKIMMER WILL O3 STILL ESCAPE INTO MY HSE?

I UNDERSTAND THAT PUTTING LOTS OF CARBON CAN HELP TO ABSORD O3 BUT DOES IT REALLT HELP SINCE WE CANT SEE O3 AND AFTER AWHILE NOSE MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO DETACT COS SO USE TO THE SMELL.

generally if u can smell ozone, u are overdosing .

it can cause headache if u are consistantly inhaling it. other adverse effect not too sure.

Get a ORP controller with ur ozone to dose accurately the required amount ur tank need.

Dear all. Thx alot for the respond. The article was indeed very good.

Im still abit confuse wheather to cont to use ozone or not cos scare of the after affect if inhale o3.

So if i on ozone lower does that mean its safer? Or if i fix it inside skimmer will it be safer? Or put more carbon can also absord o3 from escaping into hse?

I know i sounded abit "ks" but its better to be safe than sorry cos nothing can be more important than good health.

Does putting EXTRA skimmer can improve h20 condition instead of using ozone? I understand they play different role but will it help?

Reason extra skimmer is dont want to waste the current one i have in tank. Some of my friend too have 2skimmer in their tank.

Ill be away for few days and can only reply when back to sin. Thx again for all your opinion and advise.

HI MAG;

Unless you are sure what u want to get ride off by using UV and O3, then you use them. These equip will kill off good and bad bacteria alike.

O3 is in abundance only at our ozone layer, and they are very unstable as O3 ions. So in fact when release in the tank, the time where it is O3 is very short. Unless you stick your face near the tank all the time, then you need to be concern that they kill some of your cells.
