Will mantis shrimp feed on zoas?

I noticed that I have 2 mantis shrimps in my tank...very very small sized...And it is quite near to my eagle eyes zoas...Will it be of any danger to my zoas?

Big ones are not reef safe, but small one I'm not sure. Why don't you remove them and sell them? It will be a harm to all your ;ive stocks once they grow up, it will be chaotic.

but it is very difficult to remove them...It's real difficult...Any 100% sure catch methods?

Actually we have discussed this before, but I can't find that thread, I remember that one method is to 1st look out whether which LR it is in, then remove the LR, If you don't want that LR, then you can sell the whole thing together with the shrimp. If not, I think you have to throw it into a water with soda? (I'm not very sure what is that liquid, better confirmation from bros who have tried it) It will dash out once inside that liquid.

Not everyone is fond of keeping corals/nice fishes. Some people are fond on keeping mantis shrimps. Especially those who keep larger fish/invert species.

those are the special nice nice and big size manti shrimp. in singapore you can rarely find someone who wanna keep a mantis shrimp. if its small, you wont see it, if its big, he just have to whack the tank and the whole tank can give way.

anyway to catch it by not removing rocks?? cos the rockz they are in quite difficult to trake out...will PM u jacobus if i ever manage to catch it...

Heard you can try trapping them same way u trap crabs, put a glass bottle with bait inside leaning against the rocks and hope for it to climb in.

Never tried before though since I have not seen any mantis shrimp in my tank and hope to never see one. But got a feeling they are there somewhere...

I don't think the glass bottle works. Cas crabs are different from shrimps, shrimps can swim without aid from rocks.

I heard ppl say squirt hot water into the hole they are in...but can a pippette sustain the boiling hot water? I think the pippette will melt...any advice on how to squirt hot water at it?
