Have just upgraded my air powered ORCA 45 skimmer to a JEBO one using a 1500 litre per hour powerhead to drive water into my skimmer and I must say, this skimmer is superb value for money. Never believed that skimmers have to cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars and was proven right...

Bought it at Keong Seong at Havelock for only $38 for the skimmer...left only a few pieces...other places sell at cut throat prices....$55 to $65!! Like those stoopid marine shops and farms at Pasir Ris.

Try it and you'll like it...can be hung on or in my case, I stuck it inside the tank because I have a hood.

Hei sorry a little bit late to join, i'm indonesian. Hei friend, may be i can help you. I use jebo skimmer too, and at first i'm also have a little bit problem with this skimmer because do not perform foam and brownish color waste water, i found this problem because this skimmer will not work properly if you can't mantain a stable water level in your aquarium, that happen to me when at least i found that water level are play a big deal with this skimmer. I think it will be a little bit difficult to make it work properly in the main tank especially if you don't implement a sump filtration, because the water level will decrease and your skimmer will not work, the best place is to put the skimmer at the sump which have the stable water level, if you can put it at that place and set the regulator of that pump, i can guarantee it will work. :D:blink:

Hi Asfur, welcome to this big families.

Thank for the advise for the skimmer, i place my skimmer at the sump tank, so the water level is quiet stable. top up when it neccsary.

is it true that this skimmer must place in the water except the outlet is above the water level, i saw my friend skimmer was working very well. Or maybe there is no fish in my tank only some coral- at the final stage of my water cycle. would that be the possible reason? you say set the valve to the correct position, so what the correct position, i set it at the bubble reaching the rim before the cone.

Btw, i am using a CR-2000L pump. ( i think that already over power, right?)

:thanks:

Yap, i usually sharing at wetwebmedia.

I guess that your skimmer is internal skimmer, is it correct? As far as i know, there are 2 kind of jebo skimmer, first is the internal and second is external type, the external type is sold complete with the power head. I ever see the internal type is working well in my local LFS, he put the skimmer upper the water surface and pump the water by big power head i think at least 3000 l/h, set the valve so the water in the skimmer is only even in the cone chamber (about 1/4 part of the cone part). That' s what i saw.

Mine is external type, but setting for the water level in the cone is the same as above, and it work well.:ph34r:

junyong84, both type can be hang in the main tank, but i do not have experience with outside pump. :phone:
