just wanna share my piece of equipment..not really considered as diy but rather a modification..... got this from a lighting supplier of mine foc.....

150w hqi de mh....... recently got a 10000k bulb from a fellow reefer ( thanks to u man, u know who u r!!!) but still lookin 4 another as u can notice it produces a rather yellow spectrum..... hope a fellow reefer can help!!!

removed the gears inside the shell to make it light, and mounted it outside of my house, which at the same time lessens the heat produced and affects my water temperature the minimum possible....

so, here's the effect... before the mh was installed, was using fl lights; 2fl actinic blue lights and 2 10000k fl lights......

What's the effect light if u use only 1 MH instead of 2 ??

Are u living in HDB,

U can mount the gear (ballast ... etc) alone the corridor ??

I'm not sure on this wait PUB/HDB officer question u on the setup, as corridor is a public entity.

This kind of pendent does not come with uv filter glass.

im staying in a condo ground floor unit, so i mounted it at my backyard... my tank is 4ftx2ftx2ft, and i think 2 150w is the least i can use, dont think 1 mh can light up my tank properly... as for the issue of uv glass, no worries at all, its been changed prior to installation

what did you use to shield the UV given out by the MH?

asked my contractor to search for me uv filtering glass.... think he got it from asahi if im not wrong.....

t'was just fl lights; 2 x 10000k fl and 2 actinics... now dont know if i'd keep actinics or sell off everything
