For the record i spent a total of $12240 on my hobby. Managed to recoup only $3340. Its a 75% depreciation for something that lasts a year. Economically it doesnt makes sense but to reefers (myself) included its a worthwhile adventure. Dont u agree? Cheers - keep me posted on how my lifestocks are doing yar?

Hi bro.... Sorry to hear that u've lost about 9k within a year. I guess

hobbies don't come cheap. It cost a bomb when u are all fired up. But when u

have to let go, it does not amount to much. This is the normal case for everything

that we want to sell second hand, unless it's a piece of art by Picasso or

Rembrandt.

Anyway , u've had your personal satisfaction and your whole family had enjoyed

hours of fun viewing the fishes and lovely corals. This alone is worth all the money

that u've spent. (I hope)

My first tank cost me 4k. After a year , it's all gone except for an empty tank which

I still keep. So, in this case u've done quite well in recouping 25% of cost.

I don't think that u are poor (if u can spend so much in one go), so cheer up

and hope that u will make a come back soon after your US trip.
