nice urchin

Bought for a few weeks and has grown quite a bit :shock:

color getting more vibrant :lol: looks like aUFO

used to be afraid that urchin will destroy all the coralline but this guy only eat up the thin coralline but "teeth" not strong enough for the thick coralline on the liverock :lol:

anyone knows what type of urchin is this?

i just got one too... most of them are of this orangy color.. I spotted a red one though.. now i wished i have bought that one instead! :rolleyes:

Anyway.. if you want to stop them from grazing, you can trying feeding them with market prawns... here's my urchin having an rare lunch... :(

They are active throughout the day and nite.. they look great under blue light. :)

help!

I lost my sweet lips to my urchin... it was still swimming in the morning.. and I went off to get a new canister.. i came back.. and the sweet lip was missing... and when i turn over the urchin, there is was!!!

Are this urchin killers ? :(

Why do people always assume the critters are "killers" just because its eating a dead carcass? .. How would you suggest a slow moving urchin catch a fish?

Your fish is probably half dead or dead. Then the urchin just took its opportunity since they are scavengers.. just as most shrimps.

Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth?
