hi all bro n sis do any one of u can solve the problem for me thk , out of the sudden my hammer n prata n most of my coral start to melt off ,all the turbo snail sudden died n all the worm crawl out of the rock n lay at thebottem of the tank ,my parameter was specific gravity 1.022 'ph 7.8, alkalinity 16dkh ,no2 0, calcium 250 ,magnesium 750 ,me try to dose tropic marin triple buffer , bio magnesium ,reefe kalkwasse , n reef life kh buffer but it dose not help to rise any , me gat this probie only when i no more using sew water n change to marine enviroment per mix salt then all this problem occur . me was using calcium reactor wif the ph control n the reading was previosly 8.3 but now drop to 7.7 -7.8 any one . thk for helping

hi there bro eddy,

im afraid to say that your tank is experiencing serious ionic imbalance issues. you alk is extremely high at 16dkh, and yet your ph is low at 7.8. for a start, try to raise your magnesium and your calcium somewhat, using a magnesium supplement like seachem's, grotech's or aquaz's, and do likewise for the ca.

did you experience alot of calcium deposits forming on the glass sides of your tank?

actually, a large water change might be an easier way to rectify things, and good on all counts and an ideal first strategy to begin with.

eddy what type of filter do u use?Have u check your Ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates?

Bro, my Qs may sound stupid but i think it is valid also..

Did you mixed your salt in the tank itself or you aerate it in a seperate container and then do water change??

If not, then i suggest you go some LFS to buy enough NSW to do a 80% water change. May sound risky though but with the kind of parameters you are having now, doing a 80% water change may looks like a viable choice. Your LS may have a chance of survival...

Your ionic imbalance is very serious and i would advice u to do water change with a good saltmix for a start of 50% and then monitor. do not add any additive now.

i dun think your problem come from ME salt as most reefer has very good result with the saltmix.

anyway do u dose the additive all at one go ? This too will cause the reading to go haywired. Generally Calcium and Magnesium can add on same day but preferably 30min to 1 hour apart . Buffer at other days.

Ur Calcium and Magnesium is very low and Maybe u can try to raise it to 1.025. Are u using a refractometer ?

as in i can see all the worms etc crawling out and dying on the sand bed
