How big is your tank, suggest you readm more abt them before keeping one. Yes they are superb algae remover and will quickly wipe out the algae population in your tank especially if its a small one. After wiping out, it will only want to continue to eat algae and nothing else thus starve themselves to death...... Read more about them as i hate to see another algae blenny being starve to deatn due to rejection for eating.

I heard there are some pellet formulaes with algae in them...

perhaps the reason why they are feeding on them... you are lucky, Malaysiaboleh...

Otherwise, I agreed that they are super algae cleaners and will wipe out your tank of algae in a very short time... last thing u wanna get in a small tank...

my is a 2 feet tank is the whole tank got lots of algae leh.. my husband just clean it abt 2 weeks ago n now come back again n the tank is so ugly, other than algae blenny, wat other things can be done to remove the algae?

We added turbo snails & now have the cutie nassarius snails (bought frm fellow reefer Maxima) 2 counter the same problems. It helps a lot in our case. Just that when the turbos eat up the brown algae, they also poop a lot :D ... so its a viscious cycle!

I think adding some form of macro algae in the sump also helps (we just put in the sea lettuce), or I could B wrong ... mayB its a combination of all that. Plus I stopped feeding them mysis/brine shrimps (only flakes & pellets 4 now) & also cut down photo-period. Remember 2 keep up yr water changes too.

Some experts may have better solutions/suggestions. This is what works 4 hubby & me ... so far. Hope that helps :).

P.S : Ours is a 2ft too.
