hi currently i have a normal 4ft tank with 6mm all round and a 10mm base is it a bit risky using it for a marine tank ?? i think it is. but is there any possibilty that the tank will be able to take the pressure with i about 4in to 5in of sand and the amount of rock on it or is there any method that can re-enforce the tank like have somthing glue on the outside edges of the tank etc.. :thanks:

if anybody have any 2nd 4ft tank pls let me know i might be interested

My tank is the same dimension as yours.

Some things I have done..total height of tank is 18inch...but water never exceeds 15.5 inches.

Only a sparse layer of sand.

Very light rock...most for building supports...Don't have any big and bulky rock pieces.

Why not you just use your this 4 feet as the sump tank?

Buy a stronger tank as your display. A height of 18 inch really limits the landscaping opportunity..as well as the type of fish you can keep. The biggest fish in my 4 ft is only about 7cm...but I think it is already distorting the landscape look by swimming around...

Always something more important than fish.
