cheap wavemaker

anybody try using the cheap discolight contoller to control our powerhead.read this article bout using the light controller to act as a wavemaker. Using my old light controller and connect it to a low wattage powerhead. Dry run for a short while the powerhead turn according to the controller settings. wil try it in my FOWLR tank this evening to see the effect

Measured the ouput (4 output) of the controller it produce a AC voltage. Depend on the setting of the controller "rate" button, the output a.c voltage fluctuate (fast/slow) from 0-230-0. Only dare to try with 2 low wattage powerhead. Not sure the value for the output current cause shorted one of the terminal while trying to measure the output current.
