How time consuming is this hobby?

Hi all,

newbie here. pls be gentle. :peace:

been reading up on past postes on how to setup tank, eqpt etc etc...

from what i read, this hobby is time-consuming (money talk aside :( )

just want to know how time consuming?

pls kindly share the time/work required to maintain the tank....as i believe besides $, time commitment is another key factor in this hobby.......

For me, 1 1/2 hours a day (excluding forum, msn and chatting with reefers)

for me when i have coral i spent at least 1 hr on it.. now without coral average 30mins.. but of course the amount of time u spent depends on how much u love ur reef..

see in front of the tank and enjoy ur fish swimming and all the corals.. work depends on what u are keeping.. lazy to target feed then try not to get those corals like sun corals.. oh ya.. jervis will spent 1.5 hrs because he fall asleep in front of his tank LOL

haha.. i see....noted... i will avoid those that require target feeding...

enough of target feeding my baby boy liao.. :lol:

generally a reef tank probably take 45min to 1 hour.

FOWLR 20-30min ...

for mi i will at least spend 15-20 min in front of my tank just looking

just a guide ... it really depend on what u do.

for instance, tank leak, probably will take 1 day.

2x1.5x1.5 tank

Lighting: AI hydra 52HD

Skimmer: Deltec SC 1455

Reactor: Minimax; rowaphos

Skimz  ; NP biopellets

Wave Maker: MP 40 WQD

Return pump: Eheim 1262

Chiller: Arctica 1/10 hp

hehe.. i dun really like my tank.. i only like whats inside my tank... anyway i dun think that the amount of time spent infront of the tank is the amount of love for ur tank.. U wish to share the amount of time u spent daily?
