i think i'm in deep sh*t...

was sealife today... bought a yellow head goby and a RED CORIS WRASSE... asked the auntie there before if its reef compatible, peaceful together with a diadema dottyback and the goby and eats frozen preparation... she says yes to all

but when i search websites.. it seems that it is an aggresive fish.. cannot be kept with inverts... not reef compatible... destructive... and worst thing is... they are EXPERT ONLY fish...

should haf done my homework more thoroughly..

think i would haf to let go.. any one wanna adopt.. altho at this moment.. the wrasse and the goby remains invinsible.. the wrasse is somewhere under the sand.. the goby i dunno...

i really dun mind giving it away... no choice it seems.. any takers?

It is Ok to keep a coris. They are not that bad......just cannot be kept together with tube worms and shrimps.

They are easy to keep and eat almost anything. They are not aggressive but they are very fast so any slow feeders in the tank will suffer.

If you don't have tube worms and shrimps, why not keep the fish.

this is a food hog...eats like a pig.....we had 2 of this once......the more docile and slower fishes will have to buck up to compete for food...

I dun like it stiring up a storm in my sandbed as well

P.S. they grow big.

Another reason why LFS advice should always be taken with a pinch of salt.

Bascially maybe it is rated as hard to keep fish in website is due to the fact that when they are added into the tank, they will go into a very deep state of shock and will die easily if no care are taken.......

How big is your tank and is it infested with algae if not or your tank is small suggest you pass the blenny to someone with big tank

I would give the dottyback back to the LFS...an evil dottyback will always be evil.

Always something more important than fish.

I suggest you bring it back to the LFS and get it exchanged... you may have spoken to the same Auntie who told me that filefish are reef safe  I was sceptical and good thing I didn't get it on impulse. Researched and it turned out that file fish are not reef safe.
