Starfish

Hi ppl, I got this bright orange/red starfish recently. I thot starfish is suppose to feed on algae? But apparently, the starfish just went near the water surface and reached out one of its arms seemingly to catch some tiny particles floating on the water surface. ??? Which types eat algae then? And what does mine feed on?

i bought 2 linkias and they pass away 1 floating and 1 on the sand bed ...

damn hard to keep..

but my feather star is growing strong...

really like it.
