Banded Coral Shrimp

Hi,

just got 1 Banded Coral Shrimp today.....

Just saw it fighting with my cleaner shrimp, and the feeder of my cleaner shrimp is being cut off!

size wise, the Banded Coral Shrimp is slightly bigger....can they be keep together with cleaner shrimp?

CBS are aggressive... anything that comes near them gets a taste of their claws. Small fishes that they can catch will become lunch.

Cleaner shrimps will give them a wide berth.

Mated CBS are a wonder to behold as they will spawn every fortnight and they go everywhere together!

To mate the CBS?

I tho shrimp, whether there is a mate or out, will still spawn when the time is right......

If need to mate, how to identify male and female???

For CBS, the larger will often be the female.

the thing i noe is the male or the female(forgot liaoz)

is smaller than the other ######..

or u can try putting a group together..

the last 2 to survive is definitely a pair hehe

Try getting a very large specimen and a small specimen.

If the larger one doesn't kill the smaller one, chances are.. they will pair up.

ok.....Saw a giant one just know...will grab it early in the morning tomorrow, and mate them in my sump tank!

so that they will have a romantic moment without any others to disturb in the sump, with 1 LR and DSB, plus some grape algae...

Hi..changed my mind in the morning...went to get fire shrimp instead.....got 2, went home then realised that one of them only have 1 side of legs....so he is quite immobile!

Will it die?

(btw, it is the farm people that catch for me!!!
