I would like to know if any other pumps are recommended other than Eheim that most of you guys use?(Correct me if wrong :P) I went to the AquaC website and they said Recommended Pumps are:

Mag 500

Rio 2100

Dolphin DP-560

Iwaki 20 RLT

I would like to know your opinions on these pumps and whether there is a better one out of the 4 or something even better which is not listed? Sorry, I'm just a typical Singaporean. Always kiasu :P LOL

I am currently using eheim 1260 to drive the ev120. A little over powered and I have to virtually close the air choke in order not to overfoam. Other brands to sue could be the sicce extrema- 35w 560-2500L @ $88.

Make sure you take the head pressure into consideration coz the aquac C injector is equivalent to 6 ft of head, so even if your pump is rated OK, it might be underpowered.

I think it is quite similiar to the 1260, slightly lower flow rate is all.

eheims is a bit pricey to drive a skimmer. Anything that can handle 2000L with 6 ft head should be fine. Extrema looks good. You might want to ask around and see if anyone is using this pump.

The reason why I dont really recommend the eheim for the ev120 is that it is really overpowered. For 65w it burns power, and you have to either t off or choke back on the air. For a larger ev series the 1260 would be perfect. If I open the air choke fully, the 1260 drives the bubbles completely up the column and into the collection cup! You would do better with a lower rated pump and the air choke 100% open. More effecient this way.

cheers
